Truth, and a really important point.Rather, telling someone who has a chemical imbalance to fix it all by changing their thoughts is akin to telling a diabetic to think their sugar issues away. It just doesn't work like that.
Which I guess leads to part 2 of medication management...you need to roll back and examine other options. I don't know how long you've had the venlafaxine as a base medication, but if it's been longer than 6 months and you are struggling, and you can't raise the dose - time to make a new medication plan. And take @Solara's advice about parsing out which comes first, anxiety or depression. That's a great way to be communicating about it to a doc.
