I have no idea where my loans are these loans are 10 plus years old.

She said on the application she was sending me, the names of the loans would be included... I think I'm good for now

Hoping that what my psychiatrist wrote is enough to get loans discharged.

I tell you this because you mention returning to school. If you do this, and then return to school, all costs will rest directly on you.

I have had loans forgiven, undergrad and graduate. I don't want to go through the whole thing right here... but please do send me a message if you'd like to discuss it.

I found the number...easypeasy.

Just... make sure you know who you're dealing with. There are a lot of people and sites online that will take your info, and take advantage of you. Like student-loan ambulance chasers - and no, that is not an exaggeration!

I suspect that those who mention this were given a deferral and not a discharge. That means interest continues to accrue, and the interest rates are far from forgiving.

One more important point - I think you know this, Heather, but for others reading: Declaring bankruptcy does not affect student loans. You owe what you owe.

Good luck to everyone having to deal with these things. It can be disastrous.
