My mind has been racing a million miles per minute. I had finals and can't really study. I past two finals so far but not with the grades I would have like to have. I have one more final soon and I cannot focus on studying. Its to much, my mind is too much. I can't focus at all. Not even to read the questions and register them.

Does anyone else deal with this? Has anything worked to fix it? Any suggestions?
I just want my mind to relax a bit so I can focus. I tried tea, going to my safe place and more its just too fast, I can't stop it.

I can't sleep, I have been getting by on 3 to 5 hours a night if I am lucky. And sleeping meds don't work. I just continue not to sleep and end tripping a bit. Maybe when I get my sleep back to normal I will feel better. Thanks for the tip :)

I just finished my last final this week. What helps me during finals is to write down everything thats distracting me, and then put it in a box. I keep the box shut till finals are over and then I look over everything in the box

Try guided meditation... I can get really wound up, thinking at a fast rate about everything, cant sleep, dont eat...Im just racing. It takes me a while to even realize what is happening but as soon as I do, I now get on YouTube where I saved some guided meditation..and it helps *a lot*

Specifically the guided ones though, because they paint a picture of exactly what to imagine in my head, so that I have to focus with my ears, and also keep my mind solid on what the guide is telling me to see. Sometimes it takes me awhile, because my mind will start to wander and then is off and running again, but once I am able to focus, by the time the meditation is over about 5m later, Im not wound up anymore.

I talk about meditation a lot I realized :) But I can say, it is the one solid thing that has helped me in the most dramatic way with near immediate results.

Are you by chance bipolar2? I am bipolar and I have these symptoms. Racing thoughts and decreased need for sleep. Good sleep hygiene helps. Going to bed same time. No caffeine after 5. Avoid computer screens and video games 2 hours before bed. Dark room and ear plugs if noise is issue. No exercise several hours before bed. Exercise earlier in the day. You can try over the counter melatonin . That takes 3 hours per my dr to kick in. Check with your dr first. Good luck.
