I can relate to the feeling backwards is moving forwards stuff?
Also the difficulty in the seeing the experience as ‘abuse’.
My childhood was similarly abusive and neglectful- and yet also privileged. That I had privilege doesn’t mean the bad stuff didn’t happen TOO.
It does make it a bit of a mind f**k and might have made it harder for outside forces to take reports seriously? Or for problems to be recognised. Who can say in retrospect?
I have had help from a couple of kind people and my T in recognising what abuse and neglect is and that those things can be sporadic .
