I was in the chat this morning with a few people and the issue got raised with me about the whisper, which has been raised here previously, about it apparently having an error and everyone can see some whispers.
Well, I clarified that this morning as not a bug, and proved it to those within the chat, as user error, not software error.
When you whisper, there is two buttons that appear, one that says "send" and one that says "whisper". If you "whisper" privately, then you choose the "whisper" button. If you select a user to send a message too, highlighting it to them, but everyone will be able to see it, you hit "send" button after selecting their name, which highlights you are talking to them directly.
That is a feature, not a fault. That allows conversations to be happening, and then conversations within conversations to be happening, and then private conversations within public conversations using the "whisper" button to send.
Here is the thing. If the highlight contains the blue icon, its a private whisper. If it contains no blue icon, but both names and highlighted to the users named, then its a conversation within a public conversation. There is a difference...
I hope that clarifies to those who think there is some privacy concern within the software, that there is no privacy issue at all.
There is a help video for the chat which covers everything pretty well, and a second video that covers the report and whisper functions, which you will see there are two buttons "send" and "whisper", both of which do different things if you are talking about privacy.
