Keeping it all deep in my spirit where He, thankfully, abides:

"Be still and know that I am God..." Psalm 46:10

"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

"We live by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."
1 John 1:7

I am trying to prepare myself for the eventuality of my passing....(not that I am dying, just getting older and wanting to prepare myself)....and wondered how I know that I am good with The Creator and have made my peace with God???

I was baptized at age 13 and was raised southern baptist, but I consider myself a Universalist Christain now. Still, I don't belong to a church and need some guidance on knowing if I am "saved".

Anything you can share with me on this subject @SheilaKathy ???

The Bible says:

John 3:16-17 New Living Translation (NLT)
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

So @Lionheart777 you see, it can be seen as very simple. Some folks complicate it a lot, however, because Jesus also said:
“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.
Matthew 7:13-14 NLT

So, you see, it might not be that simple.

Personally, the way I see it is this:

If a person has the Holy Spirit in their heart (and if you are not sure that He is in your heart, just ASK HIM to come into your heart, any time, any place, and He will)! He wants to be a part of your life. He wants to help you to make decisions, the kind that Jesus would make if He were in your shoes. So ask Him to be in your heart every day. You can never ask Him to be in your heart too many times! (I need to ask Him to be in my heart more often than I do even)!

You know that God is three persons right? Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit. So often, the Holy Spirit is forgotten. We pray to God the Father, in the Name of Jesus, but how often do we think of the Spirit? Yet it is He, the Spirit, that is with us wherever we go, whatever we do.

Here is a verse about Him that is good:

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
John 14:26 NLT

So, you see, if you have God's Holy Spirit in your heart, He will teach you as you go, everything that is in the Bible and more. He will guide you and love you like no human can. The trick is, to listen to Him and obey Him. That is the hard part, because in His own way He will communicate with you. Some folks hear His voice, others just get a hunch, or sometimes He will speak to you through others. One way or another, though, as long as you ask Him to, He will communicate to you and guide you, as long as you let Him.

I hope this helps.

John 11:25 New Living Translation (NLT)
25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.,,,"

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT

John 16:13 New Living Translation (NLT)
13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.

John 17:20-26 New Living Translation (NLT)

20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. 24 Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!

25 “O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. 26 I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”
