General Combat Ptsd Supporters....

I know I have problems remembering who is supporting someone from the forces and who supports someone from other walks of life.
I was also wondering how many of us there are, as there seems to be growing numbers of our ilk.So I figured that I would leave a post whereby anyone wishing to be identified as a combat ptsd supporter could add thier name to make it easier to find the others on the site.

Great idea Wife Of - I shall add my name to the list. I've noticed a fair few new faces mentioning the Forces just recently so it'll be interesting to see. I know that PTSD is PTSD... but there seems to be such a difference in the way it affects a Forces or ex Forces person's character - I may be wrong and may be making assumptions but I always presume that it has something to do with the original training and way of life.

You're absolutely correct on the growing numbers. I counted 3 in one day last week :( Your headline will do it. Use "combat ptsd" in any headline thread, and it's guarenteed to immediately draw in the military crowd who come to this site.

Good idea, although I hate to see how long this list will get. It saddens me every time a new member joins and retells our story. 6 weeks ago I felt like I was the only one.

So true, Toria... I presume the same thing... PTSD is PTSD but there are common denominators within a soldier's personality whether they've only just done the training and drills to those who have served in combat and the extent of that on top of it.

I'm new and looking for support and comfort. They train our soldiers to go into battle, but they don't train the spouses and families to cope with the aftermath.
