Put two people in the same space who are both having difficulties managing depression alone, and whilst their intentions for mutual support are endorsing, the actual outcome can and often will be quite different. If one is up and the other is down, depressed gets support from not currently depressed (NCD), making NCD depressed within a couple of days. Now initially depressed comes up from support, becoming NCD, then the other person who was NCD, is now depressed, then turning to the NCD for support.

In other words... vicious cycle of depression. Put two depressed people together, it can be worse depending on the type of conversations had, depth and severity. This is how two depressed people endup making pacts to kill themselves when the conversations get too deep and the other person agrees when they should disagree and change negativity into positivity.

People are not necessarily who they portray theirselves to be on this site or any other site. Learning healthy trust should be at the top of all of our lists to prevent further trauma. I find Anthony very clear in his warnings. There is no way to know who is on the other end at the keyboard and if what they are saying is true. While probably most here are here with good intentions, how much are you willing to risk to find out. To all-please be careful.

Agreed...last night was my first night, and someone was really crossing boundaries. The group I was with banded together, because I apparently wasn't the first.
