courage is not the absence of fear
courage is action in the face of fear ~military axiom

it's okay to get scared, anita. personally, i take fear as a sign of awareness and intelligence. there are many harmful elements in nature and even more in humanity. fear is nature's way of saying, "pay attention, numnutz! ! !" i figure it is what i do with my fear which matters. i work to avoid using my fear to box myself into isolated corners. sharing within my therapy network is typically my most effective tool in that job.

you just used that tool by sharing that snippet of yourself. well done. did it help?

empathy on the car break-in. i have had break-ins where i, for certain, knew the perpetrator and it still unleashed the fear-dogs. i remain grateful for the sibs-in-healing who were there to help me through. healing hopes for all. no exceptions.

I read a study about sub therapeutic doses of Zoloft for controlling anger and frustration in people with PTSD and I asked my doc and he prescribed it. My frustration disappeared the first day. I stopped swearing and my anger level is way down, almost non existent.
Same with me , I had something minor happen that would really freak me out and like no reaction almost, would have been in a defense panic mode otherwise.

I started taking Zoloft recently in addition to the other meds and it seems to have steadied me.
