Hello Anita,Hi I just recently got diagnosed with complex ptsd
Thank you RileyHello Anita,
First, let me extend a warm welcome to you. Being diagnosed can be a pivotal step in understanding and managing what you've been experiencing. It's completely natural to feel a mix of emotions about this news, and I want you to know that you're not alone.
Our community at myptsd.com is here for you, filled with members who have navigated similar paths. It's a place where you can share your experiences, learn from others, and find support among individuals who truly understand the complexities of living with CPTSD.
Feel free to explore the various forums we have specifically tailored to different aspects of PTSD and CPTSD. Whether you're looking for personal stories, tips for coping, or guidance on how to discuss what you’re going through with loved ones, you'll find valuable resources and empathetic ears.
While connecting with this community can be incredibly therapeutic, I also encourage seeking professional guidance if you haven't already, as a psychologist or psychiatrist specialized in trauma can offer additional support and therapy options tailored to your needs.
Remember, healing is a journey, and you don’t have to walk it alone. We're glad you’re here.
Take care,
Riley Jones

Hi Arfie, hello anita. welcome to the forum.

Thank youcourage is not the absence of fear
courage is action in the face of fear ~military axiom
it's okay to get scared, anita. personally, i take fear as a sign of awareness and intelligence. there are many harmful elements in nature and even more in humanity. fear is nature's way of saying, "pay attention, numnutz! ! !" i figure it is what i do with my fear which matters. i work to avoid using my fear to box myself into isolated corners. sharing within my therapy network is typically my most effective tool in that job.
you just used that tool by sharing that snippet of yourself. well done. did it help?
empathy on the car break-in. i have had break-ins where i, for certain, knew the perpetrator and it still unleashed the fear-dogs. i remain grateful for the sibs-in-healing who were there to help me through. healing hopes for all. no exceptions.
I read a study about sub therapeutic doses of Zoloft for controlling anger and frustration in people with PTSD and I asked my doc and he prescribed it. My frustration disappeared the first day. I stopped swearing and my anger level is way down, almost non existent.Thank you, started taking Zoloft and wanted to say it keeps me calm,
