Sufferer Complex ptsd - recently diagnosed

Hi I just recently got diagnosed with complex ptsd
Hello Anita,

First, let me extend a warm welcome to you. Being diagnosed can be a pivotal step in understanding and managing what you've been experiencing. It's completely natural to feel a mix of emotions about this news, and I want you to know that you're not alone.

Our community at myptsd.com is here for you, filled with members who have navigated similar paths. It's a place where you can share your experiences, learn from others, and find support among individuals who truly understand the complexities of living with CPTSD.

Feel free to explore the various forums we have specifically tailored to different aspects of PTSD and CPTSD. Whether you're looking for personal stories, tips for coping, or guidance on how to discuss what you’re going through with loved ones, you'll find valuable resources and empathetic ears.

While connecting with this community can be incredibly therapeutic, I also encourage seeking professional guidance if you haven't already, as a psychologist or psychiatrist specialized in trauma can offer additional support and therapy options tailored to your needs.

Remember, healing is a journey, and you don’t have to walk it alone. We're glad you’re here.

Take care,
Riley Jones

Thank you , I am currently seeking counseling, I hope president Trump don’t tear it down, I am on a Medicare plan, but low income, so I pay no fee so far, if I lose this for trumps horrific actions,I am scared for I have no other great help, the therapist at clinic has more of a heart than any one in my life I have seen

hello anita. welcome to the forum.

listening, whenever you are ready to open up.
Hi Arfie,
I get so scared, so I remember for my old psych having a prescription for Zoloft got it filled , first appt with new psych meds is this week. I have what used to be stressful, now calmer, kids got in my car last night,my car doors open but it’s full of junk, they left the dvd movies , took everything from glovebox, nothing important but my car registration and all the papers in glove box of no value, like they acted real fast, my seat had been move up too like they were trying to find stuff under seat, if I wasn’t on Zoloft I would be in extreme panic mode and it’s worse with cptsd, I know they were kids they did not pop the trunk , I think on bicycles and looking for valuable stuff, surprised they did not take dvd movies, I have no idea if they took anything else ,they did not damage car only left doors open with a few things dropped on pavement, live in a condo without security.

courage is not the absence of fear
courage is action in the face of fear ~military axiom

it's okay to get scared, anita. personally, i take fear as a sign of awareness and intelligence. there are many harmful elements in nature and even more in humanity. fear is nature's way of saying, "pay attention, numnutz! ! !" i figure it is what i do with my fear which matters. i work to avoid using my fear to box myself into isolated corners. sharing within my therapy network is typically my most effective tool in that job.

you just used that tool by sharing that snippet of yourself. well done. did it help?

empathy on the car break-in. i have had break-ins where i, for certain, knew the perpetrator and it still unleashed the fear-dogs. i remain grateful for the sibs-in-healing who were there to help me through. healing hopes for all. no exceptions.

I take Zoloft in morning works great, at night

Thank you, started taking Zoloft and wanted to say it keeps me calm,
I read a study about sub therapeutic doses of Zoloft for controlling anger and frustration in people with PTSD and I asked my doc and he prescribed it. My frustration disappeared the first day. I stopped swearing and my anger level is way down, almost non existent.
