I think writing is paying off. For the first time in a long time I've felt free to talk and not gagged with the fear that it will make things worse.
Simplekindofgirl, I think you're right when you say it is the whole puzzle. It makes it very difficult for me to understand where I will place boundaries in the future to stop it happening again. Or maybe I can't, and just have to learn what to do when I'm reacting.
Srain, I think you're right. I feel there is a side of my trauma that still feels like a no go zone. Hopefully I will get there with therapy.

Belle, this is what I think a real friend should be like. Its what I try to be like to friends and I've put up with abusive situations because I stick with people too much through hard times, waiting for things to change. I think friends like this show the other end of the extreme. And somewhere in the middle, I think there is a balance I need to find.A real friend is there when things are hard, and take the tough times alongside the good time, they offer practical support (such as supporting you to go to a dr), they are honest, sometimes you will clash, but a good friend will admit they are wrong and say sorry if they hurt you.
