Contact Option

Is there going to be a 'contact' option? Not necessarily a feedback option-would be burdensome, or even an open 'feel free to contact me' thing but a link whereby readers could possibly get in touch with author/editor regarding content. Not that anyone on the planet could change what has been written carefully, researched and edited but in the event something did fly under the radar and require attention, or update?

Hope it's the correct spot to ask this. Page set-up seemed to be the place, but wasn't sure.

There is the public questions and answers forum that members can raise any points. Public nor members can edit anything... it is only those in this group who have edit ability, so editing is controlled.

This is why in the info thread I am currently writing, I included that every wiki page will have a corresponding thread created, so any discussion that the wiki group need make, they can do so to the original author... so we don't have editing just going on without the page author knowing.

Still getting to all the fundamentals on how things will be done... but every page on the site already has the contact us link at the bottom, which comes to staff. So if anyone from the public reported an issue via that, then I would move it into here onto the appropriate thread for the author to review, or just noted on the page.

I also thought of another aspect to this question upon reading it again and developing further, is that the author is listed, so when clicked, their member card pops up, and can be contacted directly.

Obviously a person must register to contact another member, because if that wasn't in place, it would be spam central around here.

We started getting an influx as it was, but with some further measures employed during registration, we have cut even more spammers from coming onto this forum, so hopefully anyone with useful feedback / suggestions to the author, will register and send them to the author directly, or via the public forum available.

Been thinking about this Anni, and have now added a built-in link that is contained within the template, that links to the wiki public forum for questioning of content from readers.

That's an awfully good solution! I only asked this question because I do some of my own research on historical points here and there for personal purposes. It's frustrating sometimes to go re-Google and track down specifics or even an email address by way of verification, etc. on some point requiring authentification. Nice if this 'blueprint' here would be picked up on elsewhere.
