When I say this I’m talking about other Borderlines. I have increasingly noticed that many people will say they aren’t being manipulative when their actions still come across that way. You don’t have to be intentionally manipulative to manipulate someone and coming up with excuses as to why just makes you come off as more manipulative. I’m not talking about situations where people project their preconceived notions about people with BPD because that happens too. However, that doesn’t mean that every action you take wouldn’t be toxic in some form or fashion. If something you do bothers someone, do your best to change the behavior and make amends.
I for one have been very manipulative in the past and have since stopped.
In the end one who has to make a decision to change their behavior for the better. We wouldn’t have DBT as a behavioral therapy if we don’t have issues with our behavior.
