Oh @Hojay - if I could like that a million times I would!

My vet told me that he could see i had ad precious little TLC in my life and he was going to shower me with love and affection. Hah! Isolation, verbal lashing out and threats of physical violence don't square with my idea of love and affection. He swept me off my feet in the beginning but has left me sobbing on my knees more often than not.

This is true. It's all good in the beginning. Somebody tells you they have PTSD, but they're happy or distracted by a new relationship and treating you like a queen. It's smooth sailing because it's a honeymoon phase. Of course I can handle PTSD! This is wonderful! You're wonderful!!

It's a little late to find out what reality is after you fall in love.

@frieda I understand your point. I was a service member as well i did three years in the marines. Got thrown in the brig and had a horrible experience in the military for reasons i dint want to get into. I lost everything i worked for...i have rough times too. My life is not flowers, but however i understand responsiblities. Getting up in the morning and doing the right thing, getting things done regardless of how i feel. And if im going to be treated like a service dog for the rest of my life because this man i fell in love with is broken and will be forever... who treats me like a drinking buddy and not a potential wife. Who treats me like their maid, and also tells me to stop being confrontational about relationship issues... and that being dramatic everytime i want to talk about something ... i think i just got my answer. And i deserve better in my life.

Ptsd should not be an excuse to be an alcoholic, or a slob, or to yell at me when your stressed. By any means. Thats just abusive.
