Sufferer Deactivating and reactivating social media

nyki

New Here
Does anyone else do this with the highs and lows of PTSD Having to explain my disappearance and sudden reappearance is so emotionally hard and embarrassing for me to do.

I managed to not do it for a few months but I'm so emotionally low right now, it's the only thing I feel like i have a sense of control over.

I''m so ashamed of ridiculous this seems to others, especially at this stage in life.
Thanks for listening💙

I never deactivate anything but have isolated without an explanation too many times, both online and irl, still do ... The thing is I'm not always entirely sure what happened myself, time seem to just disappear sometimes even though I hardly gotten anything done. It feels pointless to communicate and catch up on anything.

“Never explain, never apologize.”

It’s not how I live my life, but it IS a skill I use in certain situations where. I. DO. NOT. Owe. Anyone. EITHER. (Or only owe a select number of individuals within a wider group).

Social media is a prime example of “wider group”.

If you need a social lubricant? Pick whichever buzzwords your peer group enjoys. I decided to (not needed to, not wanted to, decided to) _________ for awhile. I do so periodically.

- Unplug
- Do a cleanse
- Limit distractions
- etc.

Every generation / peer group has a word or phrase that means to step back from XYZ to focus more on ABC. Whether that’s tech & IRL, or rat race & getting back to nature, or whatever. It’s normal. There are a thousand reasons WHY people decide to do so, and virtually no one likes being quizzed/grilled/demanded an explanation/justification as if they should have asked permission, and don’t have right to decide their own lives. Like taking time off from work for “personal reasons”. Use the phrase, and everyone -except the boundary free, egomaniacs, & eedjits- know to back off. If someone presses? You now know they’re -best case- an eedjit.
