Most people someone who is a wild-card. They are too loud, take up too much space, and you can never plan for or anticipate what they'll do next. People like this are a huge trigger for my PTSD and I often don't know how to handle them. Being around them makes me panicky which leads to immense irritability and a difficulty maintaining my usual filter.

My question is how do you all deal with them/the feelings they cause? How do you cope after their mess/chaos/noise/crazy comments tear through your day?

I don't have a problem with these kinds of people but I do have a personality type that triggers me. I get away from them and find a quiet place to ground... or I stress eat. I'm working on not doing the stress eating though lol.

Gosh, it is like living in a gigantic mental hospital as soon as I step out of the door. Working through the past and recognizing what really happened is a tough subject but it shows such crazy people in the real light.

That's funny, @Freedomfighter- the city l live in is close to being a giant mental hospital too. I have to laugh. Standing in line today, this guy kept poking me, l had to laugh. And he wouldn't take silence for an answer. Two years ago, l would have climbed to the ceiling, now l just ignore.

Wild-card people are ok if you have some distance l guess but l don't want one as my best friend.

I would probably scream at someone if they poked me like that. And I live in NY which is totally a mental asylum

I mean even like today, the biggest wild card in my life sits right next to me in class and fidgets and messes around with everything on our table and messes with the table cloth and just is generally a constant noise factory. She like 'drains my battery' so to speak and makes it so hard for me to be relaxed/able to concentrate in class because she makes me nervous. It makes me like over stimulated and distracted when someone is just taking up all the space and oxygen in a room.
