No. Sorry this is wrong. If they THINK there is a risk of ongoing abuse then they have a LEGAL OBLIGATION to report. Of course, not to your mother, but certainly to the police.the only legal thing therapist have to report is terrorisum and money laundering/ fraud.
Which is why I wrote this @She Cat, I have no idea what you're reacting to.If she had concerns about safety she had a duty to contact professionals to support you, by telling a mutual friend she has acted unethically.
There's a massive difference between going through the proper channels to report an at risk situation, and talking about something a client shares with you confidentially in the therapy room with a mutual friend of the clients mother.if they think you or anyone else is at risk they have to report it.
