I go for psychotherapy regularly and I also see a psychiatrist for medicines to help me. I pray as well, because it helps me to feel better in many ways. I do not feel badly about needing help from many doctors and healthcare practitioners as well as needing help from my church. I am so sorry that anyone used religion as some kind of negativity toward any of you. How awful! In general, from my experience, churches have been very helpful and loving toward me. They have helped me out a number of times financially after I was in a mental hospital. They have done such things as pay my bus fare so that I could get to my Dr.'s office. Also they have helped me write a budget so that I could save enough money in order to go to my dentist and have eleven cavities in my teeth drilled and filled. People from a church also helped a friend of mine get to her Dr.'s appointments by driving her there and back. The Doctor's office was over 100 miles away. Also, a lady from my church drove me to the hospital on the day I had gall bladder surgery. She got up at 4 am to get me there on time. After the surgery, she drove me home too.
