Disposable Society
(Values)
Eugene McDaniels

Disposable society has thrown away the best in me.
They've thrown away sincerity.
The keystone of integrity.
Disposable to throw away.
Buy something new another day.
There's nothing new that's made to stay.
Planned obsolescence will make you pay.

Paper plates, cardboard skates, plastic silverware,
Automobiles with disposable wheels,
Wigs instead of hair.
That's how it is.

Disposable way you love,
Not exactly what you're thinking of.
Dispose of me when you are through
For fear that I'll dispose of you.
Disposable your closest friend.
You swore you'd love right to the end.
Your rigid mind won't let you bend.
You're further gone than you pretend.

Every Man's Destiny
(Values)
Henry Miller

Every man has his own destiny: the only imperative is to follow it, to accept it, no matter where it lead him.

Tucker Foundation Credo
(Journey)
William Jewett Tucker

Be not content with the commonplace in character anymore than with the commonplace in ambition or intellectual attainment.
Do not expect that you will make any lasting or very strong impression on the world through intellectual power without the use of an equal amount of conscience and heart.

The Artist
(Commitment)
Henry Miller

In a profound sense every great artist is hastening the end. A great artist is not simply a revolutionary, in style, form or content, but a rebel against the society he/she is born into. It is the artist who has the courage to go against the crowd; she/he is the unrecognized "hero of our time" and of all time.

Soren Kierkegaard

All evil stems from this: that men do not know how to handle solitude.

Go For It!
(Journey)
Sharon Baack

Go for it!
Life lived gloriously...freely
Not sitting back and waiting
but reaching out to experience the
joys and sorrows
questions and answers
struggles and victories
and everything in between.
Go for it!
Not timidly, fearfully
inching into life's waters
but plunging in
with courage
and faith
and hope
Knowing the freedom of total commitment.
Go for it!
Not isolated...alone, but living
and learning
and growing with others
Knowing their support
and sharing it with them.
Go for it!
Rejoicing in the world around you
the people who share it...
the God who made it.
Go for it!
