Disappointed

I had some really crappy stuff go on at my last job and was not treated fairly or kindly.

I'm doing the exact same job again with a different company. There are often similar situations in which I'm panicking and telling my boss about worried she's gonna flip (because in old work that's what happened) and she's usually like, "That's okay. We can fix that." These have been some of the most helpful situations in reminding me that I was not treated well at the previous employer.

I have a civil rights claim open against them with my state civil rights department investigating. I heard from the state folks yesterday that they do not think I have probable cause to say I was discriminated against. My lawyer said he's surprised by their decision and he reminded me that it doesn't mean that what happened wasn't discrimination or unfair. I'm just really disappointed.

I know it's not good to seek validation from the outside, but I was hoping to be validated by this investigation and they'd agree it was unfair and crappy. There are other avenues to pursue and appeals, but I currently can't plan that or focus on different ideas. I feel sad and disappointed.
