I didn't notice anyone using Americanisms there where I was. I could never get over grown men calling each other twats and taking baths instead of showers. I remember the first time I heard a man call another man a twat, it was the builder working on my kitchen remodel, he just casually called the other one a twat over a mistake....I was like " what the hell just happened? " then I started noticing it a lot. Also the C word, but like with gals here, that was reserved for serious arguing among the guys.

the word 'twat' is commonly used as a curse word and its one i use (must add not all the time only when angry!!) its seen as a more comedic curse word than the 'f' word. :eek:

My son got in trouble at school when he was about 5 for saying Fanny. Trying to get the Headmistress to tell me what he said and explain what it was, is one of my favorite memories. He also said dammit at school all the time and never got in trouble, but on the day he said he forgot his bloody book bag he was sent home. Well, the Headmistress found out what pussy is the same day I found out what fanny is, neither of us was glad we got into the conversation. :hilarious:
