I do drink a lot of coffee. I read somewhere that drinking 3-5 cups a day is beneficial. I also read that drinking coffee reduces your risk of developing alzheimers and dementia later in life. It also supposedly reduces your risk of parkinsons disease and also dying of heart disease. So I don't feel so bad about drinking so much of it :p

I am a coffee fiend. I am uncertain as to exactly why but it calms my nerves more than it amps them up. I do overdo it sometimes though. I don't know if the coffee addiction is attributed to my PTSD because I've had PTSD for most of my life. Didn't start drining coffee until I was 25 or so.

Yeah I pretty much stopped all caffeine consumption right after the PTSD started. But I was also pretty much addicted to alcohol and energy drinks prior. I indulge a little sometimes in the form of a soft drink but beyond that no thanks, not for me. Sometimes I get a serious buzz from caffeine and I don't want to test those waters just yet.

It is interesting to note the results however. Its almost as if it states that nobody who drinks coffee does it knowing it makes their PTSD worse. With a few more votes I think its safe to say that in moderation it might not be so bad for me to have one after all.

I love coffee. It is practically my only beverage, therefore I am a little concerned that it could be harmful.
