You guys are liking my post because you noticed that about me too?
No, not quite.
As usual when someone says a thing is blue and me seeing a shade of green and insisting, what I noticed is it's probably depressive thinking keeping you from recognizing the multitude of your talents, & you'll soo get them pointed out. <missionface>

Points for humor, many of them. See - you're exceptional at cute self-mocking commentary. Core word being 'cute'. Abbrev it as Crystal Cute if you need to.

Quote....."It's hard to be creative in any way when you are depressed or grieving."

I think it's my confidence that's taking such a battering, that has caused this writing block.

I don't have any confidence in anything any more, my late wife's family hurt me so badly, that I don't think I will ever have any self respect or confidence ever again!

I have developed a skill of writing poems. My therapist suggested art therapy and I began writing phrases beside drawing. That is how I started.
Also I make jewelry, read, cross stitch, and attempt to train my dogs tricks. I feel guilty for becoming lost in my coloring pages because I totally zone out and relax-learned this during inpatient treatment after Suicide attempt.

@Booknerd I'm sorry you feel guilty for getting lost in your coloring. Sounds to me like you're actually really good at using this as a creative and healthy outlet. We all know how hard it can be for us PTSD sufferers to ever truly relax. So I think your ability to zone our and relax while coloring is quite an accomplishment. Even if the coloring itself does not directly make you move forward, it helps you feel better. I'd say that is very important. Hugs to you if you accept them  . Take care.

Well I am quite a talented writer and I'm not bad at painting also... although it has taken me approximately 5 years in therapy to be able to say that because my self esteem was so low I became exceedingly anxious to even think I was good at something! It's nice now to feel I am good at something though and to have an escape from reality in a hobby.
