Does A Haircut Really Change Your Mood?

I would fairly frequently change hair styles and cuts... don't do that anymore as I have one that suits my lifestyle. Generally beneficial for me. My favorite hair cut was asymmetric but had too much wave in my hair to pull it off for long... like the hair cut the main character in Drop Dead Fred gets after her imaginary friend Fred cuts her hair with the scissors.

I'm a bit like @Simply Simon. I tend to go for a drastic change in hairstyle whenever something big happens. In my case it's more like something happens, I decide to get my haircut, then afterwards I realise what prompted it. I've not regretted any of the changes yet. But I have been with the same hairdresser for years now and I know him well enough to trust that he'll do the right thing for me.

Getting a haircut really changes my mood and makes me feel new. In the colder weather I go every two months me keep it slightly longer, like 3 inches so I can comb it back in the front or part it or something. In warmer weather I like to feel fresh so I usually get it cut shorter, especially on the sides and in the back so I can spike it or something.

I hate actually getting my hair cut, but I love how it feels afterwards. It's kind of like a fresh slate for me.

Crap, now I got the soundtrack from "Hair" running through my brain. I change the top but leave the length now - I do like Mafia Science does. Spring/Summer I go shorter on the top and sometimes spikey... fall/winter I go longer cuz I want enough hair for holiday parties and such. The length hit my ass and is still growin'. Somehow I thought I'd be ready to get it gone but ... naw, gonna keep it for a while.

I have longer hair, so it needs a trim once in awhile to keep it manageable. I also want the ends to be healthy, not split and broken. When it gets too long, also, I find that it is harder to brush and keep looking organized. So, all in all, getting it trimmed is a good thing.

That is, unless the hairdresser does not listen to what I want! The last one did not listen to me and left it longer in the back than in the front. I like it all ONE length. I will not go back to that hair dresser. The one before that, she was doing a perm and needed to take a break in the middle of my cut to do something for the other lady. I had a very fixed schedule and could not allow this. So she rushed through my cut, cutting one side longer than the other! I made her fix that before I would get out of the chair and pay her. She was huffy about it all, of course. I won't go back to her either.

So, I am sitting here, needing a hair cut, and not knowing where to go to get it done, since I live in a small town and there are only just a few hair salons. There is one out on the highway, but since I have no car, I have to take the bus or get someone to give me a ride. So far, I have not braved either of these possibilities. So I need a trim....

I've been nervous to even get my hair cut since onset of symptoms. My mother cut my hair as a young child so the thought of it makes me squirm. Need to do it soon though ill be sitting on it soon.

I don't know about you, but when I wake up in the morning and my hair won't do what I want it to do, I know it's a sign that the rest of my day is going to suck (because when I don't like my hair, my confidence plummets)
I feel happiest and healthiest with hair style I have --short bob and blonde . I often change kind if bob and tone of color hair.

I always feel good after I've a shed my hair, I like that fresh feeling you get, it can even cheer me up sometimes.

It's even better if I've had a wet shave first, it's a nice clean feeing. I prefer to wash my hair separately, then have a shower, that makes me feel even better.

One thing, I don't have to worry about, is blow drying it, as I've not got that much hair anyway? Lol.
