Does Anyone Have A High Iq

Mine was 152 when I was six. I'm convinced it's much lower since the PTSD hit. I mean, if I can't concentrate for more than 10-15 minutes, how do I know if my intelligence is what it was? Anyway, it's just a number tested at some point in someone's life. And I do believe it can change as life circumstances intervene.

Guys you're all very bright already.

You survived all the crap life's thrown at you, and continue to survive, and not just that, navigate it.

Never let anyone tell you you're less than you were, or just because your cognitive functions flattened in this or that way, you're less. You're still bright, still yous, still brilliant, that there isn't a proper appreciation for it & for forms you are newly bright with due to trauma isn't your fault.

*drops the mic*

I'm defensive about my intelligence, simply because I have been called stupid, treated as if stupid. I believed that.
My dad did that. My ex-wife did that.
It's really hard to get completely past that brainwashing.
I really feel I am not intelligent ENOUGH.
Enough for what? Doesn't really matter. Whatever the 'it' of the moment is? I tend to feel inadequate to the goal.

I seem to be clever, but I have been so afraid to risk failure that my LIFE so far has been a failure.

...Intellect is one thing, but without hard work and a willingness to take calculated risks, it doesn't make that much of a difference.

I qualified and did Mensa for a bit :inpain: but I have roomed with some serious IQ numbered geniuses that were so darn smart I was exhausted trying to follow their scientific humor...much less even wish to near their equations. As well there have been many discussions as to the cultural bias of IQ Test so for myself...if I "adapt" to situations then I am doing well. Adaptation ...means more to me then my number. jmho

However, I am happy for anyone who feels good in having proof, you know?:hug:

How do you think this factors into PTSD? I wish I could find a therapist who also has a high IQ. Why...
I have an IQ of 121 and have ptsd . I had to take alot of IQ tests and the block game putting together such puzzles in a timed session . My therapist said that your brain works a little different than others because of what you have been through . She also said that her patients showed a higher IQ with ptsd . She was a military doctor and dealt with this alot . Maybe this will help .

I don't remember what I wrote before here but a wise old lady with a really unique name, a lot of cats who lived (literally) in a gingerbread styled house, told me that intelligence is the ability to adapt to your environment. That's simply as I see it. I'm probably oversimplifying it to the psychologist.

My late wife had a really high I.Q, she was a member of Mensa, they used to send her puzzles to complete.

She was also great and doing cross words.
