Maybe trump might just be the best thing for the USA... he certainly doesn't give a shit about all the polit...

Honesty?!? The guy says whatever will get him the most attention at the time! Pro gun restrictions yesterday, anti today, pro-choice yesterday, pro-life today, Democrat yesterday, Republican today. Hiring illegal immigrants yeterday, deporting them today. Against David Duke yesterday, a clone of him today! I am so sick of people saying he is honest! If he is honest, he clearly has a multiple personality disorder to help him get in all the opposite opinions. He's been caught in so many lies that I cannot even begin to list them! You can say a lot of things about him, but HONEST is certainly NOT one of them!

I am going to go caucus. I registered as a stupid republican 2 months ago just to go caucus against Trump. I just found out last night that my state CANCELED the freaking vote at the caucus. Yep, canceled. Not going to vote. My state's GOP party is going to not assign delegates until closer to the convention, at which point, party leaders will choose. They did this because of a rule passed by the national GOP powers that be, to declare that state parties must go with whatever the people vote for. My state said ok, then we won't vote to assign delegates. No vote. Canceled.

This. Is. Stupid.

This is why I have been an independent for so long. This is why I changed my registration BACK to independent today.

I am GOING to the republican caucus tonight after work, in my super liberal county (I do not say that as a bad thing), because not many will go to the republican caucus here, but party leaders will be there, and I will tell them THIS IS WHY I AM NOT A FREAKING REPUBLICAN, among so many other reasons... ugh.

I will have my voice heard. It will not make much of a difference, but I will be able to say, I did my part. I did not stand by silently. I took what action I could to stop this nonsense. I did my civic duty and stood up to be counted... ok, not counted, because they are not taking any count. I stood up to be heard.

I am even pulling out my damn suit to look more credible, and I have practiced what I will be saying in front of my friend last night (she and some others are coming with me). I know I am being silly, but hey, I got a voice. I am going to use it even if I am going to go down in a ball of flames.

I am being stupid, aren't I? Well, at least I am going to be a well dressed fool. sigh.

I caucused! I am not even a republican but I was able to be a leader at the caucus!

As the chairperson for my precinct (I was strangely elected for that role even though I announced I'm not a republican but a libertarian) I am happy to report that I was able to convince serval folks initially considering voting for Trump to consider other candidates. I was surprised by how little they knew about Trump. I encouraged respectful debate and did my best to hold the space for it. It was HEATED and a little intense, but very respectful.

By the end of the discussion time, NO ONE VOTED FOR TRUMP in my precinct.

YES!!!

I was so happy I could not stop smiling for the rest of the caucus. An elderly woman came up and hugged me because she was so happy too. I am so thankful for all the effort made by everyone to engage in robust and thoughtful debate at the caucus tonight.

Americans DO have the ability to think!

Now if only more of them would THINK and consider before voting...

(I was also asked if I work as an attorney or mediator tonight... Ha!)

The whole experience was quite intense and I could not have done it without my service dog at my side. She was a real help with all the people and emotion and commotion and helped me stand up in front of so many people and plead my case against Trump.

I was also elected as the delegate to represent my precinct at the next level. I will take the "never Trump" message on to a larger and tougher audience.

The world is completely falling apart, and will continue to do so, even without Trump... but I hope to be one of many voices of reason and hope. I was talking to a couple of war vets after the caucus was done. I told them my service dog was a PTSD dog for civilian trauma. One was a WW2 vet and another a Vietnam vet. They said to keep speaking out for those who will hear and for those who need to know they are not alone.

All my anxiety from the night is catching up with me now, but I am choosing to be glad that I stood up and made my voice heard.

It is an interesting political season, and no one has stirred up things like Trump has. I think he has the potential to be one of our best presidents, or one of our worst presidents, but I don't think he will be an inbetween president.

I cannot say that I have made an choice about who I will vote for, and at the end of the day, it might be more of who I vote against.

Well @RussH indubitably your life shall continue relatively unchanged, regardless of the outcome but for people on the margins, this election will actually matter. Trump of course being the worst outcome possible for those aforementioned people.

We're lucky to be in America, perhaps.

Ed my statement was not an endorsement of Trump, and again the general election may come down to who I will vote against.
As for my life not changing as a result of this election; I disagree. The health of the economy directing affects my living.

I live in an area that depends of tourism, and that is one of the first places negatively impacted by a bad economy. If the economy goes south, then my job goes from a full-time job with very few benefits, to a part-time job with no benefits.

While we fight over important issues like more guns and a manspreading ban. Both parties are gonna rob us blind anyway. They throw out hundreds of useless issues just to keep us distracted from what they ALL are doing to us. I have come to believe that the top 1% are psychopathic parasites and for the greater good of the world exterminating them is in our best interest, just a theoretical proposal. The parasitic tapeworm isn't dealt with by just giving more food in order to grow more segments; it is destroyed.
