I am going to go caucus. I registered as a stupid republican 2 months ago just to go caucus against Trump. I just found out last night that my state CANCELED the freaking vote at the caucus. Yep, canceled. Not going to vote. My state's GOP party is going to not assign delegates until closer to the convention, at which point, party leaders will choose. They did this because of a rule passed by the national GOP powers that be, to declare that state parties must go with whatever the people vote for. My state said ok, then we won't vote to assign delegates. No vote. Canceled.
This. Is. Stupid.
This is why I have been an independent for so long. This is why I changed my registration BACK to independent today.
I am GOING to the republican caucus tonight after work, in my super liberal county (I do not say that as a bad thing), because not many will go to the republican caucus here, but party leaders will be there, and I will tell them THIS IS WHY I AM NOT A FREAKING REPUBLICAN, among so many other reasons... ugh.
I will have my voice heard. It will not make much of a difference, but I will be able to say, I did my part. I did not stand by silently. I took what action I could to stop this nonsense. I did my civic duty and stood up to be counted... ok, not counted, because they are not taking any count. I stood up to be heard.
I am even pulling out my damn suit to look more credible, and I have practiced what I will be saying in front of my friend last night (she and some others are coming with me). I know I am being silly, but hey, I got a voice. I am going to use it even if I am going to go down in a ball of flames.
I am being stupid, aren't I? Well, at least I am going to be a well dressed fool. sigh.
