Here's a question frem zeh forehnerr...

Say he gets into power and it's obvious he's not up for the job... codes to nukes gone literal, or whatever, hell, the frikin wall... What can be done? What can America do to protect itself?

This is a very good question that serious people are beginning to consider. Technically, if the constitution is still in place at all, there are checks and balances built in to keep any president from going truly amuck with power. Again, this assumes the constitution is still in place. Per the constitution, to remove a president from office, congress has to impeach them. A majority of the House of Represenatives would have to approve a single article of impeachment against the president for Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Then 2/3 of the senate must vote to convict a president on that article of impeachment. Then the president is no longer in office.

But this is all assuming Trump would not have destroyed all semblance of the balance of powers in the constitution, and all semblance of law and order and reasonableness....

So let's say Trump becomes an insane dictator like figure.

This kind of situation is actually why the founders put the 2nd amendment in the constitution as well. Good idea/bad idea - that's another discussion. But the original purpose of the second amendment was just not for personal protection or sport hunting, but was in our founding documents in order to allow the people to resist the government if the government ever went insane... That was the original purpose.

So yeah, there are options. They are all ugly and would lead to serious instability and chaos - socially, economically, politically.... But then if we are at a place of considering all these options, all of that would have gone to hell anyhow.

I am trying to hold on to hope that this messed up country has just enough smarts and spunk to keep the likes of Trump from ever getting a hold of the presidency.

Trump is now talking more seriously of internment camps being a really good idea. Seriously. I think he is now scaring just enough people that even the media is finally really turning against him. There are new events happening every day, and more and more people warning the public about what a dangerous guy he is. Somehow, some people still are voting for Trump, and it's a weird thing to watch happen, but his poll numbers are beginning to slip. This isn't the first time in history people have fallen for a guy like Trump, but it is the first time it has happened in the US, and it's scary to watch. The options to remove him from office once he is there are not easy or good options.

I can't believe my eyes and ears as I listen to politicians endorse Trump! And Trump not condemning the KK...
If you're talking about the David Duke thing, that's just another lie from the media. There's a video of him disavowing David Duke on his twitter and facebook accounts.

The media does get things wrong and sometimes they do intentionally misrepresent, but this isn't actually a lie.

Yes, there ARE videos of him disavowing David Duke on social media. I have seen them.

If he is so against David Duke, which he appears to be, then why did this happen? I am asking not a rhetorical question, but a real question that I have.

Trump was asked to simply say what he has already said in the past. He refused. He refused to disavow David Duke and the KKK, which is even more strange because he has done that in the past.

Why not now?

I have a hard time figuring out what he believes on many issues because it seems to change so much.

I take it you may be neutral or maybe even supportive of Trump? If so, can you tell me more about what you like about Trump? I would really like to understand the draw to Trump better. I would love for anyone that supports him to explain it more. Not as adversaries, but as adults who can both have different views and get to know and understand the other viewpoints better. I spoke to a few Trump supporters at the caucus, and it was really helpful to understand more. I would love to know more about why people support him, what are the things people like about him? In the media, both with mainstream and alternative media, all I read is story after story of awful things about him. Help me understand why some believe he would be a good president for our country.

Both parties are gonna rob us blind anyway.
I'm a little shocked that Americans weren't already up on this. This has been discussed here in Australia for the past couple of years, and as such, has changed the laws here for any multi-national to conduct business in this country.

In essence, if they want the money from people in this country, then the laws change so that they have to establish sales records and thus taxation, for this countries citizens, regardless their offshore interests. Many EU countries have done this already through a threshold taxation system... so regardless who you are, hit the threshold of sales in x country, pay EU tax.

America needs to get on top of it by doing similar. Many countries are changing laws based on business conducted to its citizens, regardless of where a country is registered, thus coming into the future with Internet border crossing.
