My main reason for joining this forum is that I am currently being "assessed" [hollow laughter] under the switchover from Incapacity Benefit to ESA. PTSD is just one among the many mental health problems for which I have been treated in the last few years and I am very interested in learning what has been the experience of other people in the same boat as me. I'm 58 years old and made my 1st suicide attempt when I was just 11. Since then I have self-harmed on a more or less regular basis, had 'fugue' episodes and suffered from extreme anxiety/depression until I finally came under the care of a really good psychologist in 2006. I am currently relatively "well", having made a safe bubble for myself in my home and garden and outside which I rarely stray, and never go alone. If anyone out there has been through the IB to ESA process, particularly the appeal process [since this seems to be the norm - I can't find anyone who has 'passed' the WCA test without an appeal!] I would very much appreciate the benefit of your experience. Thanks in advance.
