There are a few web sites that advertise "caretaker" jobs. Typically you take care of a property in exchange for housing. Anywhere in the world. Huge variation in situations. Sometimes they offer pay. Often they are part time so you could take on another job. Usual cautions with online deals would apply.

Yes I totally forgot about CareTaker positions. I had researched years ago. If you like animals from what I remembered many involved those from cats, dogs, or horses. There are newsletters you can sign-up for, and some sites with classified ads. I think just getting out for 1 month to couple months will help you. Plus there is always the chance it could lead to regular work after if they have animals or farm.
