We will have to devote an entire trip to just Russia in the future. We are going to Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden this trip. We would love to go to Russia, but an additional visa is required on top of the passport, and we don't have enough time to go to St. Petersburg. I would just love to go!
You know that when we visited the Czech Republic, the older people were glum and rude, and never smiled at me when I smiled at them. They looked at me as if I were insane for smiling at strangers. The younger people would smile back. I attributed this to the age of the individual, and whether or not they grew up before or after Communism ended. I could be way wrong. The older people seemed suspicious of me as a friendly stranger.
