I think its a combination of everything. At least thats what i tell myself. Yes, my knees are too shot to run. But i could walk more. And make excuses less.

I know kids do not make it any easier. Im always on the road gymnastics, football, baseball whatever. By the time we are home I'm mentally drained.

I just got to regain my motivation. Brush off the pain. Tell the beast to go f*ck itself for a while and enjoy the ride and then do something. Ha ha! Easier said.

I never used to be lazy. But vegging out is so easy.

In a World Designed by Friday (movie announcer voice) ... After shelling out roughly 4 gazillion dollars a minute for all the kids sports, dance, martial arts, music etc...
Parent participation = free.

Of course, I also believe that autobody shops should have a "massage while you wait", and city pools should be run like base pools: show up at breakfast, leave at dinner all damn summer long.

For anyone who needs something to help motivate them, look at https://www.myptsd.com/threads/health-monitoring-jawbone-or-equivalent-do-you.44524/ which is what I use. I set realistic goals from the start, until achieved consistently, then upped it each time. I'm now set at 17,500 daily steps and achieving it daily. That equates to about 2 hours exercise, walking, running, cross trainer, so forth. Riding gives less steps, but burns more calories, if riding a physical bike.

If I go for a 30+ km ride, I burn around 1000+ calories. If I do a 50km ride, about 1500 calories. I think a 30km ride gives me about 5000 steps, which I guess is how its worked out between feet to ground vs pedals and riding. Walking, running and elliptical... about 2 hours daily to reach that level of daily steps. I started near half what I'm at now... worked my way here over the last couple of months.

The goal on my phone, watching it be achieved, is what motivates me each day. I actually get pissed off if I'm not going to make it, so I force myself to go exercise and achieve it before bed every day. Even breaking it up to an hour in the morning, then another hour in the evening, is a good way to do it.

Hmmm, just thinking about me personally I guess. :rolleyes: Certainly not nearly as much as the real thing.

I know thinking/fantasizing about it, sex that is, burns a shit load of calories.........................and time.

To quote Woody Allen: "my brain is my second favorite organ".

Hey exercise is exercise. :LOL:
