Sexual Assault Experience Pressing Charges In Europe?

Hi,

I'm considering pressing charges against the a-hole who sexually assaulted me. I live in the Netherlands and the Dutch police told me I'd need to show proof in court and have witnesses, and that in any case this all can be tough because most of it happened between him and me so it can be a he said-she said situation. After several months of healing (which continues), I feel ready to try to get the SOB behind bars.

Has anyone gone through this process? How did it go? Did it help you?

I'm pretty sure that I am. I've contacted a victims organization to help me look at the issue from other angles, though.
