Among those therapists, are they typically well-trained in. C-PTSD and dissociative disorders?

I'm not sure about percentages, but you can certainly find them. I'd suggest calling ahead to find out.

EAP= A free phone line through work- useless. Anonymous, but you must give your employee ID, lol.

I know of only free mental health workers for those needing assistance to live on their own/ manage meds, etc.

So what I said may or may not apply to your friend in Quebec, @theshadowoftheliving. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Also - is going to the private sector similar to the U.S., where you just find someone and then pay them?

@theshadowoftheliving it is free through the public health system in Montreal. Depending on the referral, it can take a while. To give you an idea, took a year and a half to access eating disorders program versus 3 weeks for the anxiety one. For the anxiety clinic though, I started by only meeting the psychiatrist and then a few months later official therapy could start with the psychologist. The programs I know in Montreal are not trauma specialized, they treat all anxiety disorders, but then each psychologist has his own expertise. I know at least one trauma expert who used to work through the public service but now in private clinic. Let me know if you want more info :)

I know that the public health care system is very slow depending on the situation.

I was very fortunate to find a private trauma therapist. It is possible that through a private practice you could get a few names or other places to look into.
