This might be slightly off topic, unsure. I don’t have good recommendations about books on development exactly but I do agree in researching the heck out of things is empowering.

The off topic part- I can’t stand Erikson and his wife. I get they were big in their field and set up pathways for further learning. But they gave up their child with Down syndrome, Neal, and let him live out his life alone in an asylum. I get that was the thing to do at the time, and I get even the Kennedy’s did that. Many did. But to situate your career on being the faces of child development and child psychology and psychiatry while hiding away your child and never visiting, never telling his siblings he exists, nothing, is just a height of hypocrisy and lowness to me.

To be honest I didn't know their back story and I have to say I agree with your viewpoint now I do know.
Understanding my behaviours makes it less frightening and more normal. Trauma from birth means I have no idea what normal is or does so I can feel like an outsider in the most normal of situations.
Anything that helps me feel more in control is a bonus

Have you tried Abebooks.com ? I will let you know if I can locate a copy for you.

There is an inexpensive copy on the Abebooks site and in various editions. These early editions may be just as good as often editions do not alter the main text (but sometimes they do)

I found a copy that is being sold by a bookseller located in Ireland. I am interested in the Lifespan and the developmental aspect during this period of growth. Your post reignited my interest and enthusiasm again.
