Feeling bloated

Yeah... but long term bad eating in the long run... however he might change his diet... I think he is on his way to getting better and working hard on it and he will change his diet then.

Milk makes a lot of people feel bloated. Perhaps try some milk alternatives, without changing the meal plan itself right now, especially if he’s particularly stressed.

Pharmacists are usually a good place to get ‘milk-shake’ like drinks that they give malnourished people in hospital.

Keep in mind that habitual diets like this one have often become a safety behaviour. So any changes he tries to make will be more successful long term if they’re introduced in a gradual and compassionate way.

I think he drinks enough, water but also stuff that is not as healthful such as soda or energy drink or coffee.
His diet is unfortunately not that great and currently it is very lousy (like I described above). How is he supposed to have a great diet when he does not feel like eating?
But he sometimes add psyllium husks or linseed to a drink or a pudding to make it more healthful.

What do you other guys eat when you do not feel like eating?
I just posted about a book I read (Dr Berg's New Body Type Guide) and caffeine is horrible for you if you have stress! I know that sometimes people like us just want to eat convenient food, or junk, or not eat at all but this book convinced me that eating according to your body type (depending on your current physical looks & symptoms) is worth it for your health. I honestly believe that this way of eating will help me tremendously. So maybe give that book a read, or at least watch Dr. Berg's Youtube videos.

But I think milk alternatives are not as healthy as milk are they? I think I heard they have less protein and vitamins.

Yes, I do think that some foods for him are comfort food... like chocolate for example... and now that you say it... be also energy drinks that make him feel comfortable because they make him feel more alert. That’s actually an interesting thought I did not have before... maybe making himself a bit hypervigilant on purpose with the energy drinks.

I think I cannot make him read this but I will give the videos a look.
I am really starting to believe he is doing caffeine on purpose to become more hypervigilant and focused and stressed (see above).

BTW for him it is not only “cupcakes - yum“ but “salad - yuck, are you trying to kill me? Cannot get that down?“. No he does not really blame me if wanting to kill him with salad, but you get my meaning.
Not only comfort eating cupcakes but also comfort not eating of salad. I think the latter is worse for the health in the long run (and hope to find something that helps him enjoy salad).
