Anyone else out there suffer from fibromyalgia?

Since I started recovery 4 years ago I have gone through many bouts and over time it has gotten better. However, I still have flare-ups. Just curious what other people's experiences have been with PTSD and how it has shown up in their bodies.

All the research I have done shows me that fibro is extreme tension due to stress. My body gets literally "wound up" causing my muscles to contract like a rubber band that is pulled too tight. And then the pain starts. Now it shows up as extreme tiredness and really fuzzy thinking sometimes with pain. The good news is that the more I heal, the less the symptoms seem to show.

My fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue is getting the best of me. I guess that is what it is. On top of the usual, I am having eye problems and stomach issues for about the past 6 months which is getting worse. Im gonna se my doc tomorrow. Some things that go along with this is just so unexplained and I end up waiting to go because I think everything is related to ptsd or fibro or TBI-all of which have little help. My eyes have felt gritty for months and vision is changing. On a couple occassions, I had to keep cold cloths on them most of the day. Also been getting nausea and shortness of breath.Hard to work on stuff when feeling like crap

I have gone through that before although not as extreme. I'm so sorry. I can identify with feeling like crap and not being able to do much. I have fibro, too.

I'm in the midst of a flare right now and it's painful. I had just had some relief and noticed how different my eyesight was! I didn't expect that, so that caught me off guard. It had been awhile since I had finally given up on having my prescription changed over and over lol. Now I am back to hurting in my hips and shoulders, my eyesight all weird and eyes feeling dry or like something is in them. My finger nails are terrible, ridged and dry but my hair grows like crazy, it's very strange.

My tdoc and neuro doc agree it is a neuro illness and it is a medical condition. It can be triggered by stress though my tdoc said recently studies are beginning to lean towards it being a psych issue. I view it and treat it like I do my Migraine attacks.

I'm glad you are feeling :)

I agree it's very hard to work on issues when we are hurting! Sometimes I don't know whether it's 'plain' depression, or pain-related! Hang in there!!

I am a 'fellow' Fibro sufferer. I do believe there are psychological components, but the pain is the same. Our bodies respond differently to stress and activity. I have found that if I keep moving, I still hurt, but keep most of my flexibility, on most days.
Blessings to you!

Angel and Daisee-As a fellow sufferer of 20 plus years, you are absolutey right. I find that it is most important to keep yourself going and not get down-we can build up exercise tolerence. Once I did, I was almost obsessed not to quit or excuse myself for even a day-addiction like. Finally the day came where personal matters interfered, a day turned to a week, then to a month, then to a year. Its harder to get back to it. Knowing what I know now, I would not let anyone or anything interfere with my routine as its not easy to get back and now the pain is so much worse and muscles weak. If I ever regain tolerence and strength I will feel so much better.

I'm kinda in the same boat. My dad was in the hosp last month, then when he came home, I got sick. Missing one day lead to 3 weeks so far. So, am trying to get moving again before more pain sets in! I was doing SO well, I WILL get back into the groove!
