First Diagnosis

@Smile , according to the way I've had r/o interpreted for me, it would mean that PTSD was ruled out of your Depression diagnosis and Dissociative Disorder was ruled out of your Adjustment diagnosis.

However: I'm with everyone else that you need a proper interpretation from the actual psych. Just bug 'em.

I was just curious as sometimes LCSW and the like will hand out a "diagnosis" but in the US its not official. Since you're seeing a psychologist with a PhD then you're good to go. You might want to go with the second opinion on this one to see if your new therapist agrees or not, especially since you were not given a PTSD diagnosis. And by second opinion I mean you don't tell your new therapist what the old therapist diagnosed you with because FAR too often a new person just takes the word of the old person and accepts your diagnosis as given even though it might not be correct. (I've had that happen more than once, and it contributed to a significant delay in my PTSD diagnosis.) If you get two independent diagnosis' that match, then its more likely that its accurate. Does this make sense? (Sorry, I'm tired and not sure if I'm completely coherent, lol.)

@Solara , yes, you make perfect sense! And thank you! I've been worrying about whether to disclose it to my new T but you make a great point... 2 independent diagnosis is more trustworthy. Thanks tons!
