Lisa, don't beat yourself up over this one, its actually not as bad as you may believe.Lisa said:I feel so stupid about this, I mean how ****ed up is that? I feel like the only person in the world with this problem... is there anyone out there who can relate to this? And how can I get rid of it? It is one thing having the nightmares, it seems quite another to me that they seem to "traumatise" me, which in my mind is a friggin' INSULT.
What your talking about is basically your mind making up new trauma for you. This is in essence part and parcel of the severity PTSD entails. Anxiety at its worst enabling your mind to create new trauma for you when it never occurred. The nightmares, the flashbacks to nightmares, all caused by the extreme level of anxiety your brain contains at present. Don't try and treat the symptom, treat the cause. The cause is your past trauma. Continue to treat that head on, and no longer will the symptoms affect you to that level.
