Food That Won't Die And Scary Things In Your Refrigerator

Twinkies never last long enough to go off here. I love them and it's a good job I live in the U.K. and don't get to eat them often or I'd get incredibly fat!

I remember cleaning out our cupboard once and finding canned pheasant that was about 18 months old. The strangest thing was that no one could remember buying it. We opened it up and from what we could tell, it was still edible. No volunteers to try it though.

I was inspired by the Guinness comments in the St. Patrick's day comments in another thread.

A friend, another friend and I spent and evening together having a "cooking party" where we all bring ingredients and spend the day and evening putting recipes together, teaching each other how to make things like cabbage rolls or hand dipped Christmas candies. One evening as it grew late and we were no where near finishing, we decided to stay and work late and crash at friend number one's house and finish things in the morning. Friends one and two when out to pick up a pizza and we decided to get a six pack of Guinness which I do indulge in once or twice a year. None of us are drinkers and since none of us were driving home we all indulged in a beer or two. Well, the three of use couldn't finish a six pack so friend number one stuck the last two in her fridge. We have another cooking party and ratting around in the back of the fridge we found...those two bottles of Guinness beer...a year later!

I always have a jar of vegemite floating around the cupboard. I like to put it on my diet biscuits for lunch. Good old Aussie tucker : )
