Most likely sufferer of complex ptsd due to sexual, emotional and physical abuse primarily by mother and father but also other people, choking incident at 8 years old and bullying victim. Going back to secondary care psychology in 7 weeks. Gp is useless, told her last year I thought I have ptsd she just said "okayyy"
Also have other conditions including eating disorder not otherwise specified which has gone on for over 7 years now. I am 31.

Welcome. Complex trauma is tricky since there isn't a definitive diagnosis yet (my therapist is treating me for complex trauma). My doctor is helpful but the stuff right within her clinic was not helpful (so she's pretty supportive of me leaving)...it was a lot of under-qualified counselor types (like masters in social work, a little EMDR training). But I did get some regular non-trauma help for my eating disorder before finding a trauma therapist because my health was total shit and there's no way I could have done trauma work anyway.

I don't know what it's like in the U.K., but hopefully you can find someone who understands either complex trauma or childhood trauma. Hopefully you find some good help.

Thank you @Chava, I really hope I can get the right help too. I don't want to be stuck the way I am forever. Time will tell I guess.
