Fund Raiser Disaster

Well for those of you on the chat who knew about it, my fund raiser was basically a total flop. It cost me more money to put it together than we raised.

I have no idea what went wrong. The only thing I can think of was because it was a Sunday night.
Although my daughter and my mother went into the bar area to get some Pepsi with my daughter wearing her Pooh bear costume and got a few people out of the bar to come see what was going on. Spent over 450 dollars. Only got 56 dollars. Like I said a total flop.

That is more than disheartening. There has to be some GOOD reason-it's horrible enough to have lost so much money without possibly thinking it was something you did 'wrong'. Everything was probably perfect and some element you just can't predict came into play-who knows what?

I wonder if there was something else going on somewhere close by, which sort of drew attention away? It won't do anything to change what happened since of course it's been a terrible disapointment but sometimes being able to understand what on earth was behind that is a little helpful.

Anthony the fund raiser was a halloween dance to try and raise money for me to get a Psychiatric service dog. As far as I can tell there were no other events in the area. The haunted house was already closed the weekend before and there wasn't any thing else going on in the 5 cities I put my fliers up in. The party was after trick or treating in the area. Maybe that was the problem. The parents were too tired after trick or treating to take the kids out to the dance? I don't know.

Sorry to hear this, Popeye. I kind of wonder if it might have been people's misunderstanding of PTSD. I don't think it is well understood....I hope you can still get your dog.
