Or any movie that kinda portrays mental health, services or PTSD.

I have to say, I HATED Ordinary People. I was shown it and in the middle of it I left the screening and ended up self-harming to the point that I found it difficult to walk for a few days. I know it is held up as a great mental health film but it really really negatively affected me.

I loved the end of Empire of the Sun, I teared up when I saw it at 16.

I also like Slumdog millionare and how he rises above his traumatic childhood.

One thing I love, which isnt real a film is the way things are portrayed in In Treatment, I think they have realism and hope.

I don't do films - at least not in the cinema. In my 30 years of marriage Rory and I have been to see a film twice. The first time was 'Perfect Storm' in a Glasgow cinema. The latter was to see the 'Lord of the Rings' in the Screen Machine, which is a mobile cinema that comes to these rural parts 4 times a year. It is good as a cinema experience, but truth is, I prefer to go and make a cuppa part way through.

Films on TV? My favourite is Dirty Dancing, with Miss Congeniality as a runner up.

ETA: I just noticed I missed the point of this thread. They are not PTSD related films. Sorry!!!!

I saw it in Vegas and was shocked at the atmosphere of the theater. I found it deeply disturbing and morally despicable.

I don't get how anyone could be entertained by watching a "comedy" that depicts the horrors one group of people inflicted on another group of people.

When I was a child, in the thick of being abused, I saw Disney's Fantasia and it was a great escape movie for me. I took to it so much that I started to draw some of the creatures and things that were in it. I loved that movie, still do. It helps one to escape from the horrors of life and PTSD. I know, it is not a PTSD movie, but I just had to say....

Bad one: Fight Club. I re-watched it multiple times until it just stopped hurting in those small and mattering spots.

Good one: That will be so expectable, ahem. Captain America.
