Gardening

So cool @Mach123 ! Does it eat enough from your house or do you have to feed it?

I took down my indoor LED grow shelf because I got a bad case of thrips and fungus gnats. I wonder if Venus fly traps could eat fungus gnats? But it’s so low humidity here that people have to keep Venus fly traps in terrariums to keep them alive.

If I start up the LED grow shelf again I’ll put up sticky traps.

cut back my salvias and a lot of my fleabane a few weeks ago. looking forward to try growing some more cuttings next year. I want to look into violas but I think I’ll have to buy those if I get any.

Wanted to share this YouTube channel. I’ve been enjoying her shorts. She’s funny and I love how obsessed she is with plants. Plant hoarding is something I envy—lol!

No they become partially dormant in winter and don’t need food. Just distilled water . Still grows quite a bit though. I left it out in the garden all summer and couldn’t believe how well it did . I hardly looked at it except to check the water. It sits right in it. The water in its bowl stays right up to the moss so it’s kind of a floating plant.

I have a question that relates to gardening. Hope this is the right place to put it.

I am looking to make our home a little more pleasant and peaceful. I have found that having indoor plants really help me. I'm hoping they help my daughter.

Hanging plans is okay.
The problem is I want a couple of large potted plants to just sit in a corner somewhere. First I have to find which ones are not toxic to cats.

If we get an indoor plant the cats see the bottom with soil and assume it's a litter box. 😳
I've heard that putting foil over the soil with stop the cats from doing this. Hopefully it will stop them till they get used to the fact it's not for them, but....
In the meantime, will you hurt the plants? Will it keep them from growing?

Ugh.. all these questions. I'm confused. Can someone help?

Foil over the soil will not hurt the plants or keep them from growing—interesting solution! They make foil covers for stove top burner pans. Those might be useful around the stem, just cut a line to the center to place, then use regular foil around the edges.

Has anyone done a seed snail? Prettt cool. Basically paper, damp soil, sort of rolled up like a Cinnabon and after they sprout and get bigger you plant! I’m gonna try some this year
