Getting triggers for the first time in 3 years, containment help?

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and have not ever reached out for public support before. I have been managing ptsd from childhood trauma as a young adult through self education, sporadic therapy & counseling, and self monitoring. I have managed to maintain employment and some modest academic achievement & personal relationship growth over the past few years and have not experienced triggers on the severe end of the spectrum for nearly 3 years or so.

I got hit in a hit and run car accident last Tuesday and things have been pretty vile for the first time in a long time. I've got pretty bad flashbacks and disassociation issues, insomnia & depression are back in big waves whenever I feel sharp pain or helplessness when I'm unable to do a task I could do easily last week. The weird thing is, it's just soft tissue injury and it's not severely disabling...yet. My old containment rules and processes are not working that well.

Does anyone have any advice for immediate containment strategies so I can get out of bed and get to my physio, and maybe start looking for a summer job (I only work part time on campus during the school year) , or better yet: sleep at night without old nightmares or anxiety around falling asleep?

Any recommendations for physios in the Vancouver Canada area that have experience working with PTSD survivors and have a sliding scale clinic fee? Should I go through the circus show of trying to find a therapist again?

Thank you for your help. Feel free to PM me off list.

-FD
