I no longer have to go to high school (a MAJOR PTSD stressor). My family has agreed to instead take me to independent study. Basically, I attend a different school once a week and I just do some work there. It counts full for my graduation. People can obtain this if they have certain issues. I'm almost certain PTSD will allow me to get independent study.

I did independent study in high school before transferring to the local community college to earn dual high school/college credits for free. If you can handle doing some classes at the community college it is free before you have your diploma (you usually have to pay your own books but you don't pay course fees). It was a great way for me to finish my college education for way less money.

Good luck. High school is hell. I dropped out of high school. Then I went back to teach high school later because I'm a masochist. High school is hell.

@Hansgrohe, I can't recall - have you gotten an official diagnosis of PTSD yet? I'd think the powers that be will require documentation - though Id also think that your Autism diagnosis would contribute.

It's amazing that your family is on board. Congratulations!

I think you will do very well in Independent studies. Both of my kids had it because they both had PTSD from abusers in their life. I am really happy for you.

@joeylittle - I still don't have an official diagnosis, but given my autism diagnosis (as well as recommendations from a counselor), I should be able to get independent studies.
