My mother was in and out of the hospital several times as a child and too many times for me to count throughout my childhood. She somehow developed a clotting disorder and must take blood thinners and have her blood thickness/thinning monitored monthly, which can be very costly. When I was 5 I remember her being in the hospital and her boyfriend Sam would watch me until she came home.
