Thank you all for the lovely thoughts, pictures, and cake!!

I spent the day with my folks. It was a glorious sunny day - the best day we've had for a while, and possibly the last day of summery weather, where is was warm enough to sit out - rain is forcast for later today, so I really got lucky with a beautiful day :p

We went to the pub for a couple of drinks at lunch time, then went home and sat in the sun, in the garden. My Mum had made me one of her traditional chocolate birthday cakes (no candles - because you can't fit enough on the top these days, for my age ;)), so we had some of that with some champagne, and just relaxed in the sun and had a natter. The bubbles seem to go straight to my head, and my Mum's too - so we were very giggly and silly, and poor old Dad got the brunt of us making fun out of him!! :roflmao:

I was thoroughly spoilt with money, chocs, and a new stethoscope with my name engraved on it! I'm planning to buy my first ever ipod with the money :eek:

Tonight my friend is taking me out for dinner (I haven't seen him for ages, so it will be lovely to catch up), and then tomorrow night I'm meeting with my girly friends for a few drinks in the local pub .... so I get to drag my birthday on for a few more days yet :D

No worries Junebug - like I say, the celebrations are ongoing!! Hehehe!!
It's quite funny, so many people don't bother with their birthday, especially as they get older. For some it's just another day. But I am definitely a big kid when it comes to birthdays. I truly believe that there should be at least one day a year, when you feel extra special. So, I never work on my Birthday, and whether I spend the day alone, or with family or friends, I always aim to make it a good day (or a good few days!). I'm lucky to have people who care about me, who are also willing to indulge me for a day or two.

It's also quite funny, because my T feels exactly the same way as me, for her Birthdays. Her family say she is too indulgent, but I think we should all have at least one day a year, when we are spoilt!!

I'm off until Monday, so that's plenty to be going on with!

I've just realised that my Mum has sent me home with 3/4 of a huge cake. I thought she should have kept a few slices for her and my dad over the weekend . . . . it looks like I have a lot of cake to get through. How will I manage?!! :p . . . YUM!
