Happy 4th to all my family and friends over the pond

O say can you see by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

<laughing> ...One of my brothers and his family live up in northern England. He always feels a bit awkward celebrating the 4th over there....But he's a lot more clever than I am, and usually comes up with themed parties for his friends and coworkers to come to that sort of underlie the cheek of it. The neighbors all get behind drinking beer and playing with explosives, but the BBQ is always something of a novelty, and s'mores have to be made with biscuits, since grahm crackers apparently can't be found in a hundred mile radius.

Happy 4th of July you guys.

Happy 4th. Only 50 cals last night. No 5 inchers or anything. Didn't even notice. Went to bed at a normal hour.....tired. Slept well.

Bonus!!!! But just a reflection on how bad things have gotten. This town is so broke they can't afford a decent display. They took up a collection here. Nobody gave them a penny because everyone knows how corrupt they are. This is a town of 1000 and shrinking. So it goes. I grew up in a smaller town and the fire department always did a stand up job on the fire works.....didn't ask for dime. Hmmmm

Don't blow your fingers off folks....

Went to some friends house in town. They have the best place to watch the show from the front yard. For a small town of about 35K, they put on one hell of a good display........Friends, food, fireworks and watching the little kids, go Ooooo and Aha, was a good night for me........

Years ago I had a hard time with the fireworks.......So I had a talk with myself, self it's just f*cking fireworks and nothing more you stupid dumb asshole....Plus you loved it when you were a kid!!! It worked, I now love to watch them....Oh, did not know about Beast at the time.....(y)

I set a bunch of bottle rockets off and roman candles with my wife and son..You're right JR just fireworks...It's been probably 3 or 4 years since I've even wanted to be awake for the fourth. I figured f*ck it i'll try it and see what happens.. It worked out ok. I felt a little weird and jumpy the next day, but nothing more than that. I actually had a good time.
