Does having this personality type pre-dispose us towards developing anxiety/depression/PTSD/whatever?
Random observation/thought about "INFJ" type in particular given the above question: INFJ's are uniquely "chameleon-like" and highly intuitive .. by virtue of being naturally "introverted" (more prone to isolate to recharge) and naturally "feelers" (more prone to make decisions on an "emotional" basis from intuition - TRUSTING "intuition" before logic), AND naturally more craving "order" (the "judging" function) .. I can see where this combination might make the INFJ more prone to the adverse CONSEQUENCES of prolonged abuse .. perhaps it's not in a magnetic "I attract abusers" sense .. but more easily and deeply wounded by such betrayals? They aren't "idealists" for no reason! And wounding of the "ideal" can be PROFOUND, especially when the "ideal" isn't just wishful thinking (as I think it is for most), but the place where an "INFJ" feels most REAL, as though all of reality OUGHT to conform to it .. (and it ought, no?!)
I tested as an "INFJ" almost my entire adult life .. post my major weightloss journey and subsequent life-transformation - during which I also have said "I feel more myself than I have ever been!" .. I have re-tested 3x as an "ENTP" .. this strikes me as odd, since I also believe you don't change your core "personality" in the traditional MBTI sense. But there was a lot of me hiding from myself over the years, w/o knowing it. I definitely am more "logically" minded .. VERY high "N" (iNtuition), but to come out the "opposite" on every other category? That just wows me, and I don't know whether to distrust my old self, my new self, OR the MBTI in general. LOL!! ;)
I'll have to do some more research on "schemas" in general .. just recently started getting a handle on "attachment" issues, so maybe this will dove-tail nicely into that iquiry. ;) Thanks for sharing the post/thoughts/responses!
